Christmas is early at Aridowen

December 3, 2009 – Sta. Teresita, Cagayan. Black Pencil Project mounts another successful outreach activity in Aridowen Elementary School last December 3, 2009. Spearheaded by volunteers AG SaƱo and Gary Buenavista, together with photographer friends Dino Dimar and Alejandro Belen, they team brought few boxes of study kits and art supplies for the kids. The ten hours bus…trike…two hours van…trike again through the vast rice fields of Sta. Teresita, Cagayan, AG wrote in his Facebook and it seemed its all paid-off just as how the team’s photo documentation would attest.

“Seeing selfless individuals; volunteering, and carrying out the pencil advocacy of Black Pencil Project to places hardly reached by the core group is more than persuading reason to continue and keep going” say’s Zer Cabatuan, co-founder of Black Pencil Project. “What’s more fascinating is the passion our fellow volunteers exemplifies” Zer added.

As of writing this article, Black Pencil Project team are finding ways to reach out to more communities this December.
