Project Aral
A back-to-school program of National Book Store Foundation, Inc., Project Aral provides basic study kits to Day Care, & Elementary pupils. The program is cascaded by Black Pencil Project in the form of “Project Aral Treks” to ensure the delivery the school supplies to impoverish, remote or indigenous communities nationwide. These organized treks are made possible through the auspices of Black Pencil Project’s network of sherpas all over the Philippines.
*Sherpas are volunteers from cluster of individuals that comes from various field of industries and talents, sharing common interests in outdoors, mountaineering, photography, arts and civic works.
**Project Aral Treks are done during the months of May and June prior to the start of school year for public elementary system in the Philippines.
National Book Store Foundation, Inc., and Black Pencil Project
In 2009, National Book Store Foundation, Inc., (NBSF) tapped Black Pencil Project (BPP) in the delivery of 5,000 study kits from National Book Store Foundation Project Aral 1 program. This partnership enabled the organization to realize its mutual goal to reach more far-flung communities across the country.
