Black Pencil Project depends heavily of individual donations and pledges for most of its programs and its valued more than the support received from other means. As a volunteer organization, Black Pencil Project adheres to personal level of commitment and the rippling effect it can bring to the pencil advocacy.

Over the years, Black Pencil Project had found this campaign effective and non-ivasive compared to traditional modes of donations.
