Top-Load Experience!
Experience Black Pencil Project through testimonies, personal accounts and anecdotes of volunteers, who they are and what kept them coming back and joins every treks that we do.

On our way to the next community, some kids on the side of the road briefly chased our jeep whilst holding their study kits, shouting “thank you” and waving their goodbyes. Now that sight to me was very heart felt! – Keith Frias, 29

Having been to two of the BPP treks, there are a lot of memorable experiences that has made a big impact on me. One thing that really tugged at my heart during one of those trips was seeing the kids eagerly drawing amidst the dwindling light of the sun with only a single gas lamp to provide light. This particular scene was taken during an art class in Cambulo. It was too dark to draw decently and luckily someone brought a gas lamp. It was at this point that it became much clearer to me how a single light can shed hope. How a single pencil can make a difference. – Vanessa David, 26
