We believe that every Filipino child should have equal opportunity to a quality basic education. When school supplies are scarce or unavailable, efficiency of last mile schools is compromised; resulting in systemic absenteeism or dropouts.
In the last 14 years, Black Pencil Project recorded an increased participatory rate and reduced dropout rate among the pilot schools visited yearly. Study shows that free provisions of school supplies are contributing factors in reducing late enrollment, and absenteeism; resulting in a higher survival or completion ratio of last mile schools learners.
Learners in need receive a minimum of three (3) pencils along with other basic school supplies such us pad papers, notebooks and crayons every year.
